Swift Radioplanes

Swift Radioplanes was established in May 2013. The startup company was born out of an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University research team that focues on all things related to unmanned aerial systems. While students, the founding members designed, built, and flew multiple aircraft to serve as unmanned research platforms for forest monitoring, search & rescue, and remote sensing. The same aircraft competed in the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) sUAS Competion in 2012 and 2013. Alongside Embry-Riddle, the founding members worked as NASA Space Grant researchers, presenting their discoveries and progress at the annual Arizona Space Grant Consortium in ’11,’12, ’13, & ’14. The group that would become Swift Radioplanes was also central to the creation of the Unmanned Systems Minor now offered by ERAU.
